I was born in Wednesbury in the West Midlands. I became a Christian when I was about 8 years old. I loved church life and going to Sunday school and later the youth group.  From about 12 years old, facing the challenges of senior school, in a way, I made a fresh commitment to to be 'useful'. I want people to know the Good News about Jesus and encourage them to follow Him. I am very keen to serve Bethany Church as pastor/elder and help them in the mission to be more like Jesus and to share the Gospel in the Dearne Valley.  I serve along with 4 Deacons who focus on the admin and financial management of the church.

Currently Bethany is a small and mainly elderly congregation and has had great challenges. The closure of the mines had a devasting effect on the towns of Swinton, Mexborough and Wath. A lot of younger people left for work elsewhere and the congregation of Bethany Church was affected too. However, I believe sincerely that the Holy Spirit, through a prayerful and faithful teaching and application of His Word, can revive and refresh the church here. Please pray with us that people will join us, including families. Bethany once had a thriving children's and youth work.
